Shop update

I've just listed the butterfly necklace I mentioned here previously:

I'm not one for butterfly imagery in jewelry per se, but after hoarding these Art Deco style butterfly pendants for nearly a year, I've decided that they should be released. Perhaps it fit's into the graphic- geometric trend going on right now, which I like the idea of, or that I quite like bold lines, or that it's just a bit seventies disco era.

Super affordable at $37.00!  Buy it here

Tastes like summer

I was excited to pick our very first vegetable and handful of raspberries from our garden today! My second love is gardening and I can't seem to stop finding an excuse to get out there. I'm slowly clearing away 3 years of neglect and trying to get things in shape.  As well as that we built our first raised bed and now have a patch of heirloom tomatoes, cucumbers, peas, broccoli, beans, garlic, carrots, arugula and chilli peppers growing like crazy!  Below is out very first perfect cucumber (Beit Alpha), and our raspberries below inspired me to create my very first treasury on Etsy: 'Tastes like summer'.

More pictures of around the garden coming soon...

Considering summer starts tomorrow, some much needed colour headed into the shop today- just re-listed these in the shop today: 14k gold fill hoops with tiny, tiny antique metal beads in a wonderful shade of deep pink.  Though they have that shot of colour, they still remain very understated.  They're totally my shade, hope yours too...You can get them here.

And as promised, this stunning rainbow quartz druzy went into the shop also.  It has a flatter profile (no chunky pointing out bits) and is set in 925 sterling silver with a sterling chain.  One off...

Queen of blending

One of the magical creations of makeup artist Pat McGrath.  Love everything about this!

Shop update

I've just listed this pretty, dramatic new summer piece, featuring dramatic golden tulip charms:

"Statement necklace featuring solid golden brass vintage flower charms, that hang dramatically. Flowers suspended from beautiful chunky antique brass vintage chain, which has a wonderful patterning. Thick, tan colored leather strap wraps around back of neck. 12 flowers in total for a bold look. Perfect for summer over a great white shirt!"

*I only have a small amount of this chain, so this necklace will be offered in a limited quantity- probably just 10 or so.

Find it in the shop now:)

Also just listed is the ever popular  quartz point necklace on fine black chain.  The gold plated capped ones are all sold out, the one's remaining are all silver plated.

Bad hair day!

Yes, today is definitely a BAD HAIR DAY!

As revealed I am soon launching a new jewelry line, and all the multiple technical details of setting up a website (I'm being cheap and a masochist by doing it myself), are beginning to make me lose my cool.  MX records, apps, managing feeds, domain pointing, setting up Facebook, the store etc etc is making my head spin.  I've given myself a deadline of going live next week, no matter whether everything is sorted out or not.  To make matters worse, my husband has this week off, and I haven't done a single thing with him!  SO, I actually sighed  when I saw that Kristina, of Fischer Clothing had featured my quartz crystal 'mugshot' on her journal/blog!  Thank you Kristina!!!  Amazing how a gesture like this can lift your mood when you're feeling like a time bomb:)

The ongoing attraction between people and crystals fascinates me.  There's something endlessly mesmerizing about a clear chunk of quartz crystal, despite it's seeming simplicity.  Added to this, is a feeling of being close to mother earth when wearing some kind of stone...

One of my favorite bloggers, Jenny of Aubrey Road who I think happens to have exquisite taste and writes thoughtful posts, shared this necklace on her blog yesterday:

Buy it here

Loved jenny's post titled: 'Six Bloggers: One question: How do you cultivate your creativity?'.

(On the crystal front, I have been collecting a number of other fantastic druzies, which will be added to the shop in a few months).
